Abu Azmi, the Maharashtra State chief of the Samajwadi Party, on Friday said that women who have pre-marital sex, with or without consent, should ne hanged. He also remarked that rape victims are as guilty as the accused. His statements came within 48 hours of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's comments on rape saying rapists do not deserve death penalty, they commit mistakes.
Following such condemnable comments from the so-called "political leaders" of India, people across the nation are obviously infuriated. The netizans express their outrage on social media sites like Twitter. Are these the politicians whom India is going to vote for? Has politics come down to such petty levels in India?
