Multi-crore drug racket busted in Punjab

*The Punjab Police on Thursday busted another multi-crore international synthetic drug racket with the arrest of three Delhi-based persons, including a multimillionaire residing in the national capital.

Paramjit Singh Gill, Inspector general of Police (IGP), Patiala Zone on Thursday revealed that the kingpin of the Delhi-based module was one Dev Behl, based in Chander Lok, New Delhi who came under the scanner of Punjab police.

At least three consignments of synthetic drugs were routed to Canada by this drug network and one of the recipients of the drug has been identified as Iqbal Singh alias Pala of Canada. Two other persons, Rakesh Tinku of Subhash Nagar and Mohinder of Una, Himachal Pradesh have also been arrested. A case has been registered against the accused in Punjab's Patiala.

Dev Behl was the kingpin of the international drug racket, Gill said, adding that he is an influential Delhi-based businessman with varied interests. Earlier, he owned a pharmaceutical company. He has a massive house in New Delhi spread over one acre and had deployed private security for his protection.

Behl has a 20-room hotel named Royal Farm, a marriage hall in Himachal Pradesh and an 8-acre marriage palace also named Royal Farm on Karnal Road. Rakesh Tinku was an associate of Dev Behl, while Mohinder was the driver of Dev Behl. Rakesh Tinku has a garment export license in Delhi. Reported by Deccan Herald 3 hours ago.
