It is inhuman to compel two people to live together when their "wedlock has become a deadlock," the Madras high court has held. Allowing a divorce based on a man's complaint that he was being tortured by his wife who kept filing police complaints, the court recently said the sanctity of marriage cannot be left at the whims of one of the annoying spouses.
