* A 29-year-old married woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances outside her house in outer Delhi's Rohini.*
While the woman's in-laws have claimed that she committed suicide by jumping off the balcony, her parents have alleged that she was murdered for dowry.
A knotted red dupatta was found around her neck when her father arrived at the spot.
A police officer confirmed this and said the matter is being investigated by a Sub-Divisional Magistrate as the couple had been married only in 2010.
Victim Neha Jain's father was informed about her death not by her in-laws but a neighbour, alleged the family.
Neha's father reached there around 11 am and found her body on the street, some distance away from the balcony.
"Had she committed suicide, her body would be close to the balcony, not so far from it. She was strangled using the dupatta and was thrown off the balcony," the woman's cousin Rohit Goel told Deccan Herald.
The family has also questioned why the victim's in-laws and other members of the family were all allegedly inside the house leaving the body outside and uncared for.The body was sent for a post-mortem and police said only the autopsy report could confirm how she died.
Neha's family arrived at the house and immediately leveled allegations of murder claiming that she was being constantly harassed for dowry ever since her marriage.Goel said her husband and in-laws were also torturing her for giving birth to two daughters and no son.
Meanwhile, Neha's sister-in-law told police that the victim appeared perfectly fine when she returned home from a bus stop in the morning.
Neha allegedly even greeted her while entering the house but then rushed over to the second floor of the house.
But the woman went on to jump off the balcony without a word, the sister-in-law told police.
