*Yediyur ward corporator N R Ramesh on Wednesday alleged that the BBMP officials gave wrong information that there were approximately 350 infotech and biotech firms in the City, while there are 3,758 firms.*
Speaking in the BBMP Council, Ramesh said there are 1,200 call centres/BPOs and 92 biotech firms. These firms alone can fetch Rs 600 crore. Ramesh added that there are 15 lakh residential buildings, 6.5 lakh commercial buildings, 22,000 apartments, 1.1 lakh industrial buildings, 2,446 super- speciality hospitals, 891 marriage halls, 1,200 party halls, 441 star hotels and 2,500 lodges in the City. These buildings can bring an income of Rs 4,500 crore.
