He and his friends also allegedly assaulted other members of the girl's family.
The would-be-groom and one of his associates were caught by the victims' neighbours.
The two were then thrashed before being handed over to police. A search for the other two suspects is on, said police.

The decision to marry the victim's sister to the accused Raghu had been taken about one-and-a-half years ago.

However, the two families had a quarrel over marriage preparations on April 8, just weeks before the wedding was to be solemnised.
An angry Raghu had allegedly roughed up the girl's father at his home after which her family called off the wedding.Drunken state
Even as the girl's family thought they were done and dusted with Raghu, he and his three friends allegedly arrived at her home in a drunken state on Sunday night.Raghu wanted to meet the girl but her family members rejected his request.
Suspecting trouble from Raghu and his friends, the girl's brother Kamlesh Rakaiwar went to their neighbour's home to call the police control room (PCR) number, but could not connect.

"When I entered my home, Raghu demanded that he be allowed to meet my sister. When I rejected his request, he pulled out a paper knife and slashed at my nose," Kamlesh told police.

The front portion of his nose fell to the ground and he let out a cry of pain which drew his mother and some other relatives to the crime spot.Raghu and his friends allegedly thrashed Kamlesh's mother and stabbed one of their relatives in his arm.

The assailants tried to escape after the crime, but Raghu and one other person Vikas were nabbed by the neighbours who had by then gathered outside the house on hearing the screams for help. Two others managed to escape.
Raghu and Vikas were thrashed by the mob even as someone informed the police. A PCR van arrived at the spot to shift Kamlesh and the other injured to hospital.
The suspects have been booked for the crime. Reported by Deccan Herald 1 day ago.
