*Five people, including two women, were killed and four injured when an MUV they were travelling by collided head-on with a lorry near Mahagaon Cross in Gulbarga early Friday morning.*
The accident occurred when the two vehicles were negotiating a turn at a curve near Mahagaon Cross on the Humnabad-Bijapur National Highway 218.
The deceased have been identified as Naganath Reddy, 50, Avinash Reddy, 26, Vimala Gurunath Reddy, 52, Neelamma Bogale, 60, all residents of Kitta village in Basavakalyan taluk in Bidar district, and driver Mahesh Biradar, a resident of Ratkal village in Chincholi taluk of Gulbarga district, police said. The injured admitted to a local hospital are said to be out of danger.
Returning from marriage
The victims were returning to their village after attending a marriage in Gulbarga.
