Two killed in separate accidents

*Two people were killed in separate accidents in Madiwala traffic police limits since Friday night.

A 28-year-old motorist was killed when a speeding water tanker rammed his vehicle from behind on 14th Main Road, HSR Layout, late on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Simal Gaga Rai, a resident of Venkatapura. Simal hailed from Odisha and was working as a manager with a finance firm in the City.

On Friday night, as he was returning home when a tanker knocked his scooter from behind, Simal fell on the road and died. The driver of the tanker abandoned the vehicle and fled. Madiwala Traffic police have registered a case.

BMTC bus rams car

In another incident, a woman was killed and two injured when a speeding BMTC bus rammed a car parked on Agara flyover on Saturday morning. The deceased has been identified as Seethamma, 63, a resident of Bommanahalli.

Savitramma of Chitradurga was visiting the City to invite her friends and relatives to her daughter's marriage.

She stayed at her relative Seethamma's house on Friday night and the next day, the victim and Savitramma and another relative Jayamma were on their way to invite people.

But the car they were travelling by broke down near Agara flyover. The driver parked the car to a side and went in search of a mechanic to fix the tyre. The three women were seated in the back seat when a speeding BMTC Volvo bus rammed the car from behind.
All the three women sustained severe injuries and were shifted to a nearby private hospital. But Seethamma was declared brought dead. The other two are out of danger. Madiwala traffic police have registered a case and arrested the bus driver. Reported by Deccan Herald 3 hours ago.
