As BJP relished the articles of Congress mouthpiece, Haryana's outspoken Minister Anil Vij on Monday latched on to the opportunity to attack Jawaharlal Nehru, saying that the first prime minister was the "founder of many problems" the country was facing.
Vij made a series of tweets as BJP gloated over Congress' embarrassment following publication of articles critical of Nehru and Sonia Gandhi in its mouthpiece. "True, Jawaharlal Nehru was the founder of many problems India is facing today," Vij, Minister in the Manohar Lal Khattar government, wrote in his tweet today. In another tweet, Vij alleged that Nehru had problem in accepting the marriage of his daughter Indira to Feroze over the latter's name.
Notably, this is not the first time when the five-time BJP MLA from Ambala Cantt has stoked controversy as in the past too he has often attacked the Nehru-Gandhi family. In an embarrassment to Congress, articles in its mouthpiece today criticised Nehru's policy on Kashmir issue and alleged Sonia Gandhi's father was a "fascist soldier", leaving the party squirming over the controversy on its Foundation Day. In his recent tweets, Vij had triggered a row by saying that "all Congress leaders have DNA for wrongdoings".
Vij had taken the dig at Congress chief Sonia Gandhi for her comment that she was not scared of anyone as she was the daughter-in-law of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. "Everyone knows that Congress leaders are not afraid of doing wrong things. The DNA of all of you (Congress people) is the same," Vij had tweeted.
The Health minister in the BJP government, who is known to even take on his own government at times, has in the past also attacked Indira Gandhi. "This is the same Indira Gandhi who crushed all democratic rights to impose Emergency. Her soul is still alive among all Congress leaders," he had earlier tweeted.
