*A 25-year-old man allegedly drowned his wife in a water barrel in outer Delhi's Begumpur to pave the way for his relationship with her friend.

It is also learnt that the victim, Kirti, was being harassed for dowry by her husband and in-laws.
Her husband Inderjeet Singh, 25, and father-in-law Gokul Prasad have been arrested.
The breakthrough came a few days after the incident, which took place on Thursday, as the accused had prepared the crime scene to give an impression that Kirti had committed suicide.
Married to Inderjeet only eight months ago, Kirti lived with him, his parents and sister at Begumpur.
"Soon after marriage, Inderjeet had taken a liking to Kirti's close friend and developed intimate relations with her. Kirti had begun suspecting him and had distanced herself from him," said DCP (Outer district) Vikramjit Singh.
Inderjeet also allegedly told the police his wife didnt satisfy him, and that they fought often.
Meanwhile, Kirti's father-in-law had reportedly demanded Rs 10 lakh from her parents to enable Inderjeet to begin a garment business.
When they were unable to cough up the money, she was harassed by Inderjeet's family.
After Kirtis death, her in-laws told the police she had committed suicide.
The cops arrived at the house in Sector-24 of Rohini to find Kirti's body lying in the lobby.
They were told that Inderjeet's sister had come home late in the afternoon to find the bathroom door locked from within and the victim missing.
Inderjeet's sister and mother broke open the door and found Kirti's head bobbing in the barrel in which the rest of her body was submerged.
Kirti's parents told the police they suspected she was killed for dowry. They also revealed Inderjeets alleged illicit relationship.
Inderjeet was questioned and he soon confessed that he had drowned his wife in the barrel and gone out through the ventilator in the bathroom.
The police are investigating if Inderjeet's father was aware of the murder and if other members of the family had any role in it. Reported by Deccan Herald 6 hours ago.
