* For 'motormouth' Uttar Pradesh ministers, even killings of senior police or jail officials were just 'routine incidents'.*

Uttar Pradesh (UP) Minister for Food Processing Paras Nath Yadav on Wednesday termed the recent killing of deputy jailor in Varanasi prison Anil Tyagi as 'normal' and 'routine'.
"Bahut bada pradesh hai UP. Is tarah ki ghatnayen hoti rahati hain (UP is a very big state. Such type of incidents keep on happening here)," Yadav said in an informal interaction with reporters at Sonebhadra, about 400 kilometres from here.

Tyagi, who was known to be a strict official, had been gunned down by four unidentified assailants while he was going to gym in Varanasi town for physical exercise on Saturday morning.

Earlier also, UP ministers and the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders have shot their mouth off while commenting on social, law and order issues and while reacting to the comments of their opponents.

Referring to Modi a few days ago, Agarwal had said at a function in Hardoi town that a man who used to sell tea cannot have a national perspective and become prime minister.
Before that commenting on Modi's remarks that SP is a parivaarvadi (family) party, he had reportedly said that Modi could not be expected to know about the family as in 'BJP, marriage is not a tradition'.

"There is a saying in the villages that if one goes to seek blessings of a widow, she wishes that he also becomes like her," Agarwal had reportedly said.

Later he said he had not said anything wrong and had merely used an idiom.
